Dry Aged Beef Shank Recipe
Who has tried our amazing Dry Aged Beef Shanks??
They have so much meat on them and are packed with nutrients from the marrow bone!
I will be the first to admit that I haven’t cooked with them much because it wasn’t a cut of meat my Mom ever used. I am not sure they even got it back from the processors. I have started experimenting with it though, because to be honest we have a surplus of it right now.
The flavor is incredible and as long as you cook it low and slow, it is super tender and will just fall off the bone and melt in you mouth.
This is my current favorite recipe to make with it. I like to make a big batch and have leftovers.
Ingredients
2-4lbs CJW Beef Shanks
1 Med onion
3-4 Jalapeños
Oil of choice
Salt
Pepper
Instructions
Cover the beef shanks with a generous amount of salt and pepper
Dice the onion and jalapeños
Add your oil to your slow cooker and turn the heat on
Sear your shanks on each side till the turn brown
Add the onion and jalapeños
Add a enough water or broth to mostly cover the shanks
Cook on low for 8 hrs
Shred up and enjoy! We love this in seasonal stir fry’s and always, always in a tortilla!
Let me know if you give this recipe a try!
